JOHN P. KELLY, NAMS-CMS
John
is a former USAF Colonel with over 5000 hours logged in high
performance jet aircraft. Additionally, he holds advanced degrees in
engineering. Prior to, during and following his military career, John
has logged over 15,000 miles of blue, green and muddy water cruising,
and is a highly skilled and professional blue water sailor with a sound
understanding of design, construction and rigging of sailing vessels.
He holds a 100-ton Masters USGC license with
sailing and towing endorsements. He is also an experienced yacht
delivery captain. He owns and cruises an ocean going catamaran having
completed cruises to Bermuda, Nova Scotia, Bahamas and the East and
Gulf coasts of America. John and his wife just completed the Great
Circle Loop of America in their Meercat 34, Cataline.
John Kelly joined James C. Harper* and Associates in
1996 and has been actively engaged in yacht surveying with a specialty
in sailing vessels. He is frequently called upon for his expertise in
navigation and communication equipment and operation.
He became an Associate Member of NAMS in July 1997 and completed his full certification (CMS) in 2000.
*Jim Harper passed away in June of 2003. John took over the business immediately thereafter.
